ABOUT MY PRACTICE

At Zen Medical Care, I focus on helping women with midlife issues, specifically symptomatic perimenopause and menopause, sexual function, weight management and thyroid dysfunction. I am an expert in these areas after 35 years of medical practice. I implement the most up to date guidelines, research and new therapies for these conditions. My special interest areas include vulvodynia and vestibulodynia (painful vulva syndrome). I was an investigator in a recent study on the use of green tea extract for this condition.

The methods I rely upon for management of these problems include the use of bioidentical hormones, nutrition, diet, supplements, peptides, and herbal remedies when indicated. I welcome women from a diversity of cultures, ethnic backgrounds and sexual identities.

After an initial consultation I contact the patient within a short period of time to make sure the treatment plan is effective. My suggestion to have regular appointments because the improvement and maintenance of health is dynamic. My goal is to create an ongoing relationship with the women I advise, to be a part of their lives as one of their doctors, for years to come, so they may experience the best of what their future lives have to offer.

I refer to excellent colleagues whom I am familiar with in other fields of medicine if a person requires a different area of expertise. Examples include, pelvic physical therapy, psychotherapy, psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology, endocrinology, general and naturopathic medicine.

As a certified MD for the NYS Medical Marijuana program, I can certify patients for Medical Cannabis in NYS for qualifying conditions. I also have developed a very successful weight loss program using either injectable HCG or semaglutide (a peptide).

As a member of the North American Menopause Society, The American College of OB/GYN, The International Society for the Study of Female Sexual Health, and the international Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, I keep abreast of the latest medical advancements in these areas.
