Botox

Botulinum toxin is a neuromodulator protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction.

While you may be familiar with the term “Botox” it is the most well-known brand name for the neuromodulator protein “Botulinum Toxin A”. Other popular brands include Xeomin, Dysport and Jeuveau.

Botox relaxes the muscles on areas of the face and neck which cause wrinkles associated with facial expressions. Botox can cause facial expression lines or wrinkles to be less noticeable or essentially disappear.

Utilizing Botox, Dr. Enzenbacher can reduce forehead lines, eleven lines (between the brows), crow’s feet, bunny lines, lift the upper eyelid, correct a gummy smile, down-turned lips at corners, wrinkled chin, and platysma neck bands.
