Medical Cannabis

Medical use of cannabis has been legal in New York State since 2014. Dr. Enzenbacher is certified by the New York State Department of Health to recommend patients for a medical cannabis card. To qualify, the patient must have a serious medical condition such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, MS, ALS, PTSD, etc.

The patient can then take the card to a dispensary to meet with a pharmacist who will determine the best dosage(s), method(s) of administration (i.e. flower, vape, topical, tinctures) and strain(s) for their condition(s).

By going to a medical dispensary you can ensure that you are receiving the appropriate THC (psychoactive) to CBD (anti-inflammatory) ratio that is necessary for your condition. Recreational dispensaries tend to carry THC dominant products.

Dr. Enzenbacher will advise you on recommended dispensaries in your area.

You may be a candidate for medical marijuana if you have one or more of the following conditions: cancer, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus or acquired immune deficiency syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, chronic pain, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease, neuropathies, Huntington's disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, pain that degrades health and functional capability (where the use of medical cannabis is an alternative to opioid use), substance use disorder, Alzheimer's, muscular dystrophy, dystonia, rheumatoid arthritis, autism or any other any other condition certified by the practitioner  (i.e. depression, anxiety  and insomnia).

Even though recreational use of cannabis is now legal in New York State if you need cannabis for a medical condition it is advised that you obtain/continue to use a medical cannabis dispensary to ensure the type and quality of marijuana is suitable for your medical condition(s).

*You can travel with medical marijuana with your certification card to states with legal reciprocity (recognize and adhere to each other’s laws).  If you are considering traveling with medical marijuana be sure to check the states’ reciprocity with New York State medical marijuana laws.

Glowing Testimonials

“My medical marijuana experience so far has been a very good one! It was very easy to make an appointment with the dispensary in white plains and the employees were very accommodating and knowledgeable. The pharmacist and I have almost nailed down the right combination of color and delivery system for me. Medical marijuana has been a very positive addition to my life. I’ve had a very good month working because I wasn’t in so much pain and discomfort.”
